Embassy Row, Powder room simplicity

The project was a complete ‘back to the bricks’ renovation of a 4,000 sq ft apartment
in a 1906 Beaux Arts’ building, Wendell Mansions, in Kalorama, Embassy row. The objective
was to bring the apartment up-to-date for modern living while preserving and referencing
the original apartment features. The comprehensive re-design needed to
meet the client’s desire for a contemporary aesthetic that respected the historical
nature of the building and apartment. Plaster repair, custom millwork, new windows,
HVAC, complete renewal of all finishes, and also the reinstatement and reconfiguration
of the original layout all featured in the renovation.
